# HYROX classes at F45, Orangetheory, PureGym and other gyms: what you actually get

A "HYROX class" is a coached group workout built around the race: running (or treadmill, bike or erg work standing in for it) mixed with the eight HYROX stations, at a gym that has signed up with HYROX as a Training Club or partner. F45, Orangetheory, PureGym and Fitness First all run HYROX-branded programming in some locations, but what you get changes a lot from chain to chain and from one gym to the next. This guide explains what an affiliated gym is, what each chain has confirmed, what a class looks like, the equipment to check for, how many classes to take, what it costs and how to find one near you.

- **8** stations a good class trains, in race order
- **2–3** classes a week for most racers
- **1** trial class before you commit

## What is a HYROX Training Club or HYROX-affiliated gym?

A HYROX Training Club is a gym that has an official agreement with HYROX to run HYROX-branded classes. In return it gets access to HYROX programming, coach education and marketing, and it's usually listed as a HYROX gym. It doesn't mean the gym is a race venue, and it doesn't guarantee a particular set of equipment.

In 2024 HYROX announced that its affiliated gyms would become official Training Clubs, built around a group program called HYROX Group Training. It also launched HYROX365, a platform that gives gyms and coaches daily HYROX workouts, class tutorials and education videos. So when a gym says it runs "official HYROX classes," the workout often comes from that shared programming, delivered by the gym's own coaches.

There are a few levels you'll see advertised:

- **Training Club / affiliate gym.** Runs HYROX classes on its timetable. Equipment varies widely.
- **Chain partner.** A whole brand such as F45 or Fitness First signs a deal, and some or all of its locations run HYROX programming. Participation still varies by location.
- **Performance Center.** A higher-spec setup fitted with official race-style equipment. In the UK and Ireland, Everlast Gyms is rolling these out and says each one uses official Centr x HYROX competition kit: sleds and rope, wall balls and targets, kettlebells, sandbags and turf.

> **Note:**
> You don't need a HYROX gym to enter or finish a race. Plenty of people train on their own with a plan. A class helps most if you want coaching, access to sleds and ergs, and people to train with.

## What do F45, Orangetheory, PureGym and other chains offer?

Each chain has confirmed something different, and none of them guarantees every location takes part. Here's what their own pages or published press coverage confirm. Treat it as a starting point and check your local gym's timetable.

| Chain | What's confirmed | Where |
|---|---|---|
| F45 Training | Official HYROX training partner; weekly HYROX signature workouts for members; early-bird race registration; HYROX x F45 run clubs | Participating studios |
| Orangetheory | Official HYROX affiliate partner; race-format classes since December 2025; early race registration access | Select North American studios |
| PureGym | HYROX Intro, HYROX Strength & Conditioning and HYROX 60 classes | Selected UK gyms (plus some in other markets) |
| Fitness First (Germany) | 95 clubs certified as Training Clubs in 2025; HYROX classes at all locations from 2026 | Germany |
| Les Mills | CEREMONY HYROX and CEREMONY HYROX MAX programs | Clubs that buy the programs |

### What is HYROX training at F45?

F45 became an official HYROX training partner in 2024. Coverage of the deal says F45 members get HYROX signature workouts every week, early-bird access to race registration and invitations to HYROX x F45 run clubs. In 2026 F45 became HYROX's global gym partner, adding co-branded training content and member programs at studios. F45 classes are short, circuit-style and coach-led, so expect HYROX sessions to feel like a fast-moving F45 class with race stations and running built in. Not every studio runs HYROX sessions, and the timetable, price and kit differ by studio.

### What is HYROX training at Orangetheory?

Orangetheory became an official HYROX affiliate partner in late 2025, with programming starting December 1 at select studios in North America. The classes combine treadmill running, rowing and functional strength work across eight stations, with a one-kilometer run between each, built on Orangetheory's heart-rate-zone interval approach. Members at participating studios also get early access to race registration. The treadmill-and-rower setup makes running easy to include, but a standard studio is not built around sleds, so ask what the gym uses for the sled push and pull.

### What about PureGym?

PureGym's UK page lists three HYROX classes, all run by HYROX-accredited coaches: **HYROX Intro** (45 minutes, the basics), **HYROX Strength & Conditioning** (45 minutes, strength and functional fitness) and **HYROX 60** (60 minutes, a tougher race-style session). They're at selected gyms only, starting in Manchester and Liverpool, and you book through the PureGym app or website. You don't need to be entered in a race. PureGym's Saudi Arabia site lists Intro and Strength & Conditioning as paid classes at selected gyms, which is a good reminder that the lineup and pricing differ by market.

### Fitness First, Les Mills and others

In Germany, Fitness First certified 95 clubs as HYROX Training Clubs in fall 2025 and said all of its locations would offer HYROX classes from 2026. Les Mills, the group-fitness program company, launched CEREMONY HYROX and CEREMONY HYROX MAX, which clubs can buy alongside HYROX affiliation, so you may see these names at gyms that run other Les Mills classes.

Other brands come up in searches but don't have a confirmed HYROX class program that we could find. We found no HYROX partnership for Anytime Fitness. Gymshark's link to HYROX was a one-off race-day promotion, not a class. Individual Anytime Fitness clubs, or any independent gym, may still run their own HYROX-style sessions, so ask locally.

## What does a typical HYROX class look like?

Most HYROX classes last 45 to 60 minutes and follow the same shape: a warm-up, some technique or strength work, then a conditioning block that mixes running with stations. The details depend on the program and the coach.

1. **Warm-up (5–10 minutes).** Easy cardio, mobility and a few practice reps of the day's movements.
2. **Skill or strength (10–15 minutes).** For example, wall ball technique, sled body position, lunges or carries.
3. **Main workout (20–30 minutes).** Runs or erg intervals between stations, often in teams or pairs to share equipment. Some sessions use race distances; many use shorter pieces.
4. **Cool-down (5 minutes).** Easy movement and stretching, sometimes with scores or splits recorded.

A single class won't be a full race, which takes most people well over an hour. Classes sample the race, and some gyms host occasional simulation events that come closer.

A good coach also holds you to race standards: hips below knees on [wall balls](/stations/wall-balls), full lunges and a controlled sled. Habits that slide in class become no-reps on race day.

## What equipment should a HYROX gym have?

The ideal HYROX gym lets you train all eight stations at race weight. In practice, few general gyms have everything, so decide which items matter most to you and ask before you join.

| Equipment | Why it matters | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Sled and turf lane | [Sled push](/stations/sled-push) and [sled pull](/stations/sled-pull) are the stations people find hardest to replicate | Lane length, whether you can load race weight, a rope for pulling |
| SkiErg | Station 1, 1,000 m | How many machines; you'll queue if there's only one |
| Rowers | Station 5, 1,000 m | Enough machines for a class, so you are not waiting |
| Wall-ball targets | 100 reps at 2.70 m (women) or 3.00 m (men) | Marked targets at both heights, 4, 6 and 9 kg balls |
| Kettlebells and sandbags | [Farmers carry](/stations/farmers-carry) and [sandbag lunges](/stations/sandbag-lunges) | Matched pairs of 16, 24 and 32 kg; 10, 20 and 30 kg sandbags |
| Running access | 8 km of running in the race | Treadmills, a running track, or a safe outdoor loop |

For reference, the Open sled push weighs 102 kg for women and 152 kg for men, sled included, and the sled pull 78 kg and 103 kg. A gym that only has a light prowler and a short strip of turf still helps with technique, but it won't prepare you for the real load.

> **Tip:**
> No sled at your gym? Use it for everything else and book a few sessions at a gym that has one in the last six weeks before your race. Our [sled push and pull tips](/guides/hyrox-sled-push-pull-tips) explain what to practice.

## Class, program or coach: which do you need?

A class, a training program and a coach do different jobs. Most people do best with a mix.

- **Group class** — Gym membership or class pass — Technique, motivation, equipment access — Great for learning the stations and training with others. One workout for everyone, so it can't fit your exact weaknesses.
- **Training program** — Free to a monthly app fee — Structure across the whole week — Tells you what to do on the days you're not in class, especially easy running and strength. See our [12-week plans](/guides/how-to-train-for-hyrox).
- **Personal coach** — Highest cost — Tailored plan and feedback — Worth it if you're chasing a time, coming back from injury or have very limited time to train.

The common mistake is treating classes as the whole plan. A class is usually a hard, mixed session. If you take five a week and never do an easy run, you'll be tired without building the aerobic base the race depends on.

## How many HYROX classes a week should you take?

Two or three classes a week is right for most people training for a race, plus one or two easy runs and, if you have time, one strength session. Beginners can start with one or two classes a week while they learn the stations.

| Your situation | Classes per week | Add on your own |
|---|---|---|
| Just curious, no race booked | 1–2 | One easy run |
| First race in 8–12 weeks | 2 | 1–2 easy runs, 1 strength session |
| Chasing a time | 2–3 | 2–3 runs (easy and threshold), 1 strength session |

Count each class as one of your hard sessions and leave at least one easy day between the hardest ones. Our [HYROX workouts guide](/guides/hyrox-workouts) has sessions you can do on non-class days.

## How much do HYROX classes cost?

Across 157 HYROX gyms that publish prices, the median membership is about $101 a month and the median drop-in about $22, but prices vary a lot by country: see our [HYROX gym prices by country](/guides/hyrox-gym-membership-cost) for the full data. Use these questions to work out what you'll actually pay:

- **Is it included in membership?** At some chains the class is on the normal timetable. At others it's a paid add-on or needs a premium tier.
- **Is there a drop-in or class-pack price?** Useful if you only want sled and station sessions while you train elsewhere.
- **Are there join fees or minimum terms?** A cheap monthly rate with a 12-month contract can cost more than a pricier flexible plan.
- **What perks come with it?** Some partner gyms advertise early race registration, run clubs or simulation events. Check whether the perk applies at your location.

On a tight budget, try a basic gym membership plus a program, with a drop-in at a HYROX gym every week or two for sled work. Our [race weekend budget guide](/guides/hyrox-race-weekend-budget) covers the race itself.

## What should you ask on a trial class?

Book a trial class before you sign anything, and arrive with questions. These are the ones that tell you the most:

- **Who coaches, and are they HYROX-certified?** Ask how long they've been coaching HYROX sessions.
- **How many people per class, and per sled?** A full class with one sled means a lot of waiting.
- **Can I load the sled to race weight?** And is the turf long enough to push without turning every few meters?
- **How do you scale?** Good classes offer lighter loads and shorter distances for beginners and race weights for experienced athletes in the same session.
- **Do you enforce race standards?** Watch whether the coach corrects wall ball depth and target misses.
- **How is the week structured?** Is there a mix of strength, station and running days, or the same workout every time?
- **Do you run simulations?** A half or full simulation before race day is valuable.

## How do you find HYROX training near you?

Start with the RoxSkin [HYROX gym directory](/gyms), which lists gyms city by city with the facts that matter for race training, such as sleds, SkiErgs, wall-ball targets and drop-in prices. Each city has its own page, so you can also look for a gym near the venue of the race you're entering.

Then check your own gym. If you're already a member of a chain, look at its app or timetable for HYROX classes, since participation varies by location. HYROX also lists affiliated gyms on [the official HYROX website](https://hyrox.com/). Finally, a quick visit tells you more than any listing: look at the sled lane, count the ergs and watch part of a class.
