# HYROX for corporate team building

Most companies enter HYROX as Relay teams: four colleagues share one full race, each running 2 km and doing two stations, so fitness levels can be very mixed and the team still finishes together. Relay is also the cheapest entry, about half the Singles price per person. In some places there's an official route too: HYROX's Corporate Race, piloted in Paris, London and Berlin for the 26/27 season, sells ticket blocks to companies from €108 per person. This guide covers how to enter, a 12-week plan for an office team, a budget per person, wellness budgets, charity and sponsorship.

- **4** colleagues per Relay team, 2 km and 2 stations each
- **~£75 / US$95** typical Relay ticket per person
- **€108** per person for the official Corporate Race (pilot cities)

## How do companies enter HYROX teams?

You have three routes, depending on where you are and how many people want to race.

### 1. Regular Relay or Doubles tickets

At any HYROX event, a company can simply buy public tickets for its staff. Relay is the natural format:

- **Teams of four.** Women's, Men's or Mixed (two women and two men).
- **Everyone does a fair share.** Each person runs 2 × 1 km and does the two stations that follow, and the team chooses who takes which legs.
- **Short time on course.** Each racer is out for a fraction of a full race, which suits colleagues who've never done a fitness race.
- **Age.** Racers must be at least 16 on race day. There are two Relay age groups, Under 40 and 40+, based on the team's average age.

Doubles works for pairs who want more of a challenge. Both partners run all 8 km together and share every station, so it suits colleagues who already run regularly. A big company can enter several Relay teams and a few Doubles pairs in the same event.

Two practical points. Doubles and Relay often sell out before Singles, so book early. And teams are locked once established, so if someone might drop out, check whether a name-change add-on such as Flex Lite is offered at checkout. See the [Relay guide](/guides/hyrox-relay-guide) for leg choices and handovers.

### 2. The official HYROX Corporate Race (pilot cities)

HYROX Experience GmbH runs an official corporate program, sold on the HYROX Experience website. For 26/27 it's being piloted at the Paris race in December 2026 and, still to be confirmed, at London Olympia and Berlin Tempelhof in spring 2027. What we found on its booking page:

| | Basic | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Price (excl. VAT) | €108 per person (€432 per team) | €148 per person (€592 per team) |
| Includes | Race ticket, onboarding, corporate leaderboard, one name change, Social Hub access, race photo ticket, spectator ticket, 20% merch discount | Everything in Basic, plus preferred start slot, After Workout event ticket, media team, city tee |

The rules are different from a normal Relay:

- **Relay only**, in teams of four.
- **No gender divisions.** Everyone races at Women's Open weights, which keeps it accessible for mixed teams.
- **Minimum 20 tickets** (five teams) per booking.
- **Corporate leaderboard** with company names, and a daily ceremony.
- **Not a World Championships qualifier.**
- **Booked privately**, not on the public shop. You fill in an enquiry form, and once you've paid, HR receives single-use codes for staff. Everyone must be signed up at least a month before the event. Bookings are non-refundable.

### 3. Regional corporate challenges

Some regional organizers run their own versions. HYROX South Africa's Corporate Challenge, for example, pits four-person Relay teams from different companies against each other in Mixed, Men's and Women's divisions. Each team gets race entries, photos, food and drinks, and the top three teams in each division get podium flags. It doesn't list prices online.

Outside these, we couldn't confirm an official corporate program in North America or Asia-Pacific. Ask your regional HYROX organizer, or use regular Relay tickets.

> **Key takeaway:**
> If your company has fewer than 20 racers or isn't near a pilot city, regular Relay tickets do the same job. You lose the corporate leaderboard but keep the format and the price.

## How to train a mixed-ability office team

The beauty of Relay is that nobody has to be fit enough for a full race. Each person needs to run 2 km and get through two stations at a steady effort. Here's a 12-week plan for a team that ranges from regular gym-goers to people who haven't trained in years. It's our suggestion, built on the same principles as our [beginner training plan](/guides/hyrox-training-plan-beginner).

1. **Weeks 1–2: get everyone moving.** Two or three sessions a week of 20 to 30 minutes. Easy runs or run-walk intervals, plus bodyweight squats, lunges and push-ups. The goal is habit, not fitness.
2. **Weeks 3–4: try every station.** Book a session at a gym with HYROX equipment and let everyone try the SkiErg, sleds, row, farmers carry, lunges and wall balls. Note who enjoys what.
3. **Week 5: assign the legs.** Give the strongest runner or the person who likes heavy work the sled legs, and give lighter, longer stations like the row or SkiErg to steady endurance types. Everyone practices their own two stations from here on.
4. **Weeks 6–9: build.** Each person runs 1 km efforts at a controlled pace, then goes straight into their station. One group session a week keeps the team together.
5. **Week 10: full rehearsal.** Run the whole race as a relay in the gym, with real handovers and a stopwatch. You'll spot problem pairings fast.
6. **Weeks 11–12: taper.** Cut the volume, keep a little intensity, and practice the race-day timeline: arrival, warm-up and who waits where.

A few tips that help office teams:

- **Use a gym for the stations.** Few offices have a sled. Many [HYROX gyms and classes](/guides/hyrox-classes-gyms) run group sessions or team packages, and you can browse [gyms near you](/gyms).
- **Keep it voluntary.** Team building works when people opt in. Make spectating and volunteering equally welcome.
- **Scale honestly.** If someone has an injury or health condition, they should check with a doctor first. Our [HYROX safety guide](/guides/is-hyrox-safe) covers the basics.
- **Check pacing.** Use the [pace calculator](/tools/hyrox-pace-calculator) to set comfortable run targets.

## What does a HYROX corporate team cost per person?

The ticket is the smallest part if you travel. Here's a rough per-person budget for a local race, using October 2026 prices.

| Item | Per person | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Relay ticket | £75 / €75 / US$95 / HK$780 | London, Hamburg, Washington, D.C., Hong Kong; service fee extra |
| Or Corporate Race package | €108–148 excl. VAT | Pilot cities only; includes a spectator ticket and photos |
| Team kit (matching shirts) | Varies | Order early; check the event terms before adding logos (below) |
| Gym sessions for station practice | Varies | Group or drop-in rates at a local gym |
| Spectator tickets for colleagues | About £15 / €10–25 / US$20–25 per day | Not refundable |
| Team meal after the race | Varies | Often the part people remember |

For comparison, Doubles costs about £123, €114 or US$185 per person in the same cities, and Singles about £128, €119 or US$195. If the team travels, add transport and hotel nights. Our [race weekend budget guide](/guides/hyrox-race-weekend-budget) breaks those down by city, and [how much HYROX costs](/guides/hyrox-tickets-cost) covers refunds and Flex.

## Can you use a company wellness budget?

Often, yes. Many employers offer a wellness stipend or a lifestyle spending account (LSA), and race entry fees are a common eligible expense. HealthPartners, for example, lists race entry and fitness event registration fees as LSA purchases, and Optum lists marathon entry fees, fitness classes and personal trainers. Gym sessions for station practice may also qualify.

Check three things with HR before you count on it:

- **Is a race ticket covered?** Each plan sets its own list.
- **Is it taxable?** In the US, wellness stipends and LSA payments for things that aren't medical care, such as gym fees, are generally taxable income for the employee (IRS Chief Counsel memo 201622031). Elsewhere, the rules differ. HYROX's corporate page says employer-funded team sport in France is exempt from social contributions up to €200.25 per employee per year in 2026, but adds that it isn't a blanket exemption. Ask payroll or an accountant.
- **Who pays: company or employee?** A block of tickets bought by the company and a stipend claimed by each employee can be treated differently for tax. Ask your finance team how they want to book it.

## How to add a charity tie-in

Racing for charity gives the team a shared goal beyond the finish time. HYROX's official charity program, Race for Impact with High Impact Athletes, sells discounted charity tickets in exchange for a fundraising minimum. For Relay teams, minimums we found include **€800 per team** on the global page (it may vary by local currency), **£1,200 per team** in the UK and **US$1,000 per team** at San Diego. Charity tickets are non-refundable, and missing the target can bar you from future charity tickets.

Ways companies make it work:

- **Match what staff raise.** A company match doubles the team's total and is easy to announce internally.
- **Pick a cause together.** A short staff vote builds buy-in early.
- **Fundraise on a regular ticket** if the team wants its own charity and no minimum.

Our [guide to racing HYROX for charity](/guides/hyrox-for-charity) covers charity tickets, minimums by region and how to raise the money, and [HYROX fundraising ideas](/guides/hyrox-fundraising-ideas) has more ideas for teams.

## Can a company sponsor its own employees' race?

Yes. Some companies go one step further and sponsor their own staff. On RoxSkin, a business can put its logo on an athlete's race kit, printed as a skin-safe temporary tattoo and worn on race day, with photos and posts afterward. Each athlete has up to 15 spots, and spots start from $50. That works for a company backing its own racers too: claim spots on your employees' profiles, or ask for a pack across several athletes with one invoice. See [sponsoring athletes on RoxSkin](/brands) and, from the athlete's side, [how to get paid to race HYROX](/guides/get-paid-to-race-hyrox).

> **Watch out:**
> Read your event's terms first. HYROX's regional ticket terms for 26/27 bar athletes from promoting a business that isn't contracted to the local organizer or HYROX in connection with the event, and the stated penalty is removal without a refund. That clause covers your own company too. Amateurs racing in branded kit are common, but keep logos modest, avoid brands that compete with official HYROX partners, and never use HYROX's name or logo. The official Corporate Race is the route where your company name is shown by HYROX itself, on the corporate leaderboard.

Other low-key ways to show up as a company: a team shirt without big logos, a company banner held by colleagues in the spectator area, and plenty of photos for your internal channels.

## FAQ

### Does HYROX have a corporate category?

In some places. HYROX's Corporate Race is being piloted in Paris, London and Berlin for 26/27, with Relay-only teams, Women's Open weights for everyone and a corporate leaderboard. HYROX South Africa runs a Corporate Challenge with Mixed, Men's and Women's Relay divisions. Elsewhere, companies enter regular Relay or Doubles.

### How much does HYROX corporate team building cost?

A regular Relay ticket was about £75, €75, US$95 or HK$780 per person in October 2026, plus a service fee. The official Corporate Race costs €108 (Basic) or €148 (Premium) per person excluding VAT, with a minimum of 20 tickets.

### What's the best HYROX format for a company team?

Relay. Each of the four teammates runs 2 km and does two stations, so mixed fitness levels work well and nobody has to finish a full race. Doubles suits fitter pairs who already run.

### How long should an office team train for HYROX?

About 12 weeks is enough for a Relay team of mixed ability: a few weeks to build a habit, a few to learn the stations, then practice and a full rehearsal before race day.

### Can I pay for HYROX with my wellness stipend?

Often. Many lifestyle spending accounts list race entry fees as eligible. Check your plan, and note that in the US these payments are generally taxable income.

### Can my company put its logo on our race kit?

Check the event terms first. HYROX's ticket terms restrict promoting businesses that aren't HYROX partners at the event, with removal as the stated penalty. If you go ahead, keep logos modest and avoid brands that compete with HYROX partners.
