## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

AIA HYROX Singapore brings four days of racing to Singapore EXPO, one MRT stop from Changi Airport. With the venue on the city's east side, you can stay near the start line, base yourself in leafy Katong, or commute in from downtown on a direct train line. Late November is hot, humid and often wet, so plan your warm-up, hydration and travel around the weather.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Thursday 26 to Sunday 29 November 2026
- **Venue:** Singapore EXPO
- **Address:** 1 Expo Drive, Singapore 486150
- **Nearest public transport:** Expo MRT station (CG1/DT35), served by the East-West Line's airport branch and the Downtown Line
- **Divisions:** Open, Pro and Adaptive singles; Open and Pro Doubles; Men's, Women's and Mixed Relay; and Corporate Relay
- **Also on:** HYROX Youngstars, a separate race for ages 8 to 15, runs at Singapore EXPO on 28 and 29 November

### Getting to the venue

**From the airport:** Expo is the next MRT stop from Changi Airport station on the East-West Line's airport branch, so it's the simplest option. Taxis and ride-hailing cars are quick too. Singapore EXPO says the drive takes about 10 minutes. Taxi stands and private-hire pick-up points are at Foyer 1 and Foyer 2.

**From the city center:** The Downtown Line ends at Expo station and runs straight through downtown stations, so you won't need to change trains. Bus services 2, 12, 20, 24, 38 and 118 also stop around the venue. By car, Singapore EXPO puts the trip from the CBD at about 20 minutes.

### Where to stay

Most athletes stay in one of three areas. **Changi Business Park**, next to the venue, puts you a short walk from the start. **Changi Airport** is handy for early arrivals and late flights. **Katong and Joo Chiat** have heritage shophouses, cafes and East Coast Park nearby.

- **Dorsett Changi City Singapore:** It's a few minutes' walk from Expo MRT and Changi City Point mall, and the hotel says Singapore EXPO is about a 10-minute walk away. This hotel was formerly Capri by Fraser.
- **Park Avenue Changi:** It's in Changi Business Park, about 500 meters from Singapore EXPO, and has a rooftop gym and pool.
- **Crowne Plaza Changi Airport:** It's at Terminal 3 with a link bridge to Jewel, one MRT stop from Expo.
- **Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong:** It's on East Coast Road, a short walk from Marine Parade MRT on the Thomson-East Coast Line.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **Fitness First (Paya Lebar and Tampines, among other clubs):** It's an official HYROX Training Club that runs HYROX programs at every Singapore club, and non-members can request a complimentary HYROX class.
- **F45 Training (Siglap, Boat Quay and other studios):** It's an official HYROX training partner with drop-in classes. Siglap is the closest listed studio to the venue.
- **Mobilus (five locations):** It's an official HYROX training club with sled-push lanes and wall-ball stations, and you can book a single class.
- **Pure Fitness (Icon Village, Tanjong Pagar):** It's an official HYROX affiliate gym with sleds, SkiErgs and rowers, and first-time visitors can buy a short trial pack.
- **WAO Fitness (Dempsey, Punggol and Media Circle):** It's an affiliate HYROX gym that offers drop-ins and open-gym packs.

### Where locals run

- **East Coast Park (Marine Parade):** This seaside park stretches more than 13 km along the east coast on smooth, flat paths, though you'll share them with cyclists and skaters. It's the easy choice from Katong hotels, and it's open 24 hours, so you can beat the heat at dawn.
- **Bedok Reservoir Park (Bedok):** A flat 4.3 km gravel loop circles the reservoir. Bedok Reservoir MRT is about 200 m away, five stops from Expo on the Downtown Line.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Changi City Point (next to Expo MRT):** This mall beside the venue has a food court and a range of sit-down restaurants for an easy pre-race meal.
- **Chin Mee Chin Confectionery (East Coast Road, Katong):** It's a restored 1920s kopitiam serving kaya toast, eggs and nasi lemak, a classic local breakfast.
- **East Coast Lagoon Food Village (East Coast Parkway):** It's Singapore's seaside hawker center, known for duck rice, satay and barbecue chicken wings.
- **Jewel Changi Airport:** It's packed with restaurants and is one stop from the venue if you want choice before a flight.

### Race weekend events and parties

As of 15 October 2026, HYROX had not announced an after-party, fan village or community run for the 2026 race, and the event page lists ceremony times as TBA. In 2025, a free AIA HYROX House fan village ran in Singapore EXPO Hall 3 with food, DJs and a recovery zone. Nothing similar has been confirmed for 2026 yet, so check HYROX Singapore's official channels and local run clubs closer to race week. The one confirmed side event is HYROX Youngstars Singapore for 8- to 15-year-olds on 28 and 29 November.

### After the race

**Recovery:**
- **Soma Haus (Joo Chiat):** It offers ice baths and saunas, close to Katong hotels.
- **The Ice Bath Club (East Coast, River Valley and Duxton):** Every location has ice baths, hot magnesium baths and a social sauna.
- **Damai at Grand Hyatt Singapore (Orchard):** It has thermal hydrotherapy facilities and has added HYROX classes and recovery programs. Contact Damai about access.

**Things to do:**
- Watch the **Rain Vortex**, the giant indoor waterfall at Jewel Changi Airport.
- Walk the **Supertree Grove** at Gardens by the Bay, where the outdoor gardens are free to enter.
- Take an easy recovery spin or walk along **East Coast Park**.
- Explore the colorful **Katong** shophouses.

### Local insights

- **Tap your own card:** You don't need a transit card. The MRT and buses accept contactless Visa, Mastercard and Amex cards, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, at the gantry. Single-trip tickets were scrapped in 2022.
- **No snacks on the train:** Eating and drinking are banned on the MRT, and that includes sipping water, with fines of up to S$500. Finish your gel or electrolyte drink before you tap in.
- **Leave the vape at home:** E-vaporizers are illegal in Singapore. Since September 2025, foreigners caught with one are fined S$700 and have it seized, and short-term visitors who reoffend are barred from coming back.
- **No need to tip:** Tipping isn't customary. Most restaurants add a 10% service charge, and a "++" on the menu means service charge and GST (9%) are added on top of the listed price. Hawker stalls charge just the price shown.
- **Drink from the tap:** PUB, the national water agency, says tap water is safe to drink straight from the tap, so refill your bottle at the hotel.
- **Pick your ride app:** Uber merged into Grab in 2018, so Grab is the default. Gojek, TADA and Ryde also operate if you want to compare fares.
- **Afternoon storms:** As the northeast monsoon sets in during late November, thundery showers tend to arrive in the afternoon, and they sometimes run into the night. Do your shakeout run in the morning.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Bring ID and arrive early.** Your race wristband only gets you into the venue on your own race day. On other days you'll need a spectator ticket.
- **Spectators need their own tickets,** sold through the event ticketing page.
- **Plan for heat and storms.** Singapore's November averages run from roughly 24°C (75°F) overnight to 31°C (88°F) by day, and the month averages around 18 rain days as the northeast monsoon sets in. Pack a dry layer and an umbrella for the walk from the MRT.
- **Look into AIA's free cover.** AIA offers complimentary AIA Protect 360 coverage to participants and spectators, subject to terms. The event page notes it's for Singapore residents aged 18 to 65.
- **Check bag drop details.** The event page doesn't cover bag drop yet, so read the athlete information HYROX publishes before race week.
