## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

BYD HYROX Bangkok runs for four days at BITEC in Bang Na, and it's also an Elite 15 stop, so you can watch the world's best race the same week you do. An indoor skywalk links BITEC to BTS Bang Na, so you won't need a taxi. The one thing to know: February is hot, dry and sometimes hazy, so do your shakeout runs at dawn.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 February 2027
- **Venue:** Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC)
- **Address:** 88 Debaratna Road (km. 1), Bang Na Tai, Bang Na, Bangkok 10260, Thailand
- **Nearest public transport:** BTS Bang Na (E13, Sukhumvit Line), a short walk along a sheltered skywalk with travelators
- **Divisions:** Open and Pro singles, Doubles (including Mixed), Pro Doubles, Men's, Women's and Mixed Relays, and Adaptive (men and women)
- **Also on site:** Elite 15 and Challenger 15 races in a separate Elite Hall, with singles on Thursday 11 February and doubles on Friday 12 February

### Getting to the venue

**From Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK):** BITEC is 14 km away, so take a taxi or Grab. Metered taxis from the official queue add a 50-baht service charge plus expressway tolls. You can book a Grab pickup in advance, and tolls are added on top of the fare it shows you.

**From Don Mueang Airport (DMK):** It's 39 km away, so allow plenty of time for a taxi or Grab.

**From central Bangkok:** Take the BTS Sukhumvit Line toward Kheha to Bang Na. BITEC says the trip from the business district takes about 20 minutes. Taxis drop off in front of halls EH98, EH99, EH100 and EH103.

### Where to stay

Stay in Bang Na to walk to the start, or anywhere along the Sukhumvit Line between Asok and On Nut for more food and nightlife on a direct BTS ride.

- **Brighton Hotel & Residence (Bang Na):** About 1.8 km from BITEC, with an indoor pool, a fitness center and a sauna.
- **Cubic Bangna (Bang Na):** A good-value pick that guests put 5 to 10 minutes' walk from BITEC. It sits beside an elevated highway, so pack earplugs.
- **Thomson Residence Hotel (Bang Na):** An apartment-style hotel that reviewers say is walkable to BITEC. Guests mention a shuttle to BITEC and the BTS, but ask whether it's free.
- **Novotel Bangkok Bangna (Prawet):** A 10-minute drive from BITEC, according to the hotel, with a pool, a gym and a massage spa.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **Virgin Active True Digital Park (Punnawithi):** Virgin Active Thailand says it's an official HYROX Training Club and runs HYROX Foundations and HYROX Complete classes. The club is a short walk from BTS Punnawithi, two stops from Bang Na. Its free trial is only for residents, and no day pass is listed, so contact the club first.
- **BASE Bangkok (Lumphini):** A HYROX partner since 2024, with clubs at Gaysorn Amarin, Langsuan and Sathorn. Visitors can buy three classes for ฿2,200, valid for 7 days, or one for ฿1,100.

### Where locals run

- **Lumphini Park (Pathum Wan):** Bangkok's classic running park, with about 2.5 km of paths, open from 04:30 to 21:00. It's by BTS Sala Daeng and MRT Si Lom, and about 400 water monitor lizards live there.
- **Benjakitti Park (Khlong Toei):** A 72-hectare lake park with a jogging path and elevated forest walkways, by BTS Asok on a direct ride from Bang Na.
- **The Green Bridge (Khlong Toei):** A 1.3 km elevated path linking Lumphini and Benjakitti. It's a flat, traffic-free out-and-back.
- **Suan Luang Rama IX (Prawet):** The city's largest park, at about 80 hectares, with a lake and botanical gardens. It's the nearest big park to Bang Na, but take a taxi, because the MRT station is more than 1 km away.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Jok Prince (Bang Rak):** Bib Gourmand jok (rice porridge) with pork balls, which is easy on the stomach the morning before you race. It opens early morning to early afternoon, then again in the evening.
- **Baan Phadthai (Bang Rak):** Bib Gourmand pad thai with grilled river prawns, a solid carb load the night before.
- **Charoen Saeng Silom (Bang Rak):** Bib Gourmand khao kha mu, braised pork leg with rice, for post-race carbs and protein. It closes in the afternoon.
- **Baan Somtum (Sathon):** Som tam (papaya salad) in 29 versions, plus Isan grilled meats. Save the spice for after you race.

### Race weekend events and parties

The confirmed extras are the Elite 15 and Challenger 15 races in the Elite Hall from 14:00 on 11 and 12 February, with the Elite 15 men's race at 20:00. As of 15 October 2026, no official after-party, expo or community run had been announced, and ceremony times were TBC. Watch HYROX's official channels for news.

### After the race

**Recovery:**

- **Let's Relax Terminal 21 (Asok):** A massage spa on the sixth floor of Terminal 21, open 10:00 to midnight. A two-hour Thai massage costs ฿1,300.

**Things to do:**

- Tour the **Grand Palace** and Wat Phra Kaew. Tickets cost ฿500 and are sold from 08:30 to 15:30.
- Walk the **Green Bridge** at dusk to loosen your legs.
- Spend a slow morning in the botanical gardens at **Suan Luang Rama IX**.

### Local insights

- **Get a Rabbit card:** BTS gates don't take tap-to-pay bank cards yet, and Pattaya Mail reported in August 2026 that fitting readers could take around 18 months. Buy a Rabbit card at any BTS ticket counter. You only need your passport if you want to register it.
- **New fares from January:** A joint fare of 17 to 45 baht is planned on the Green Line from 1 January 2027.
- **Grab works well:** Pay in cash or by card. Tolls and surcharges come on top of the fare shown.
- **Drink bottled or filtered water:** Tap water is safe when it leaves the plant, but old pipes and building tanks can contaminate it, so locals don't drink it unfiltered.
- **February heat:** Average highs are 33.7°C (92.7°F), lows are 24.8°C (76.6°F), and it rains on only about two days. Run before sunrise and carry electrolytes.
- **Check the air:** Haze builds in the dry season. In February 2024, City Hall told its staff to work from home because of PM2.5. If the air is bad, train indoors.
- **Dress for temples:** The Grand Palace turns away sleeveless tops, shorts, mini skirts, and tight or torn pants.
- **Leave the vape at home:** E-cigarettes are illegal in Thailand, and the tourism authority warns that visitors can be fined or arrested.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Take the BTS.** The skywalk from Bang Na lets you skip the traffic.
- **Bring photo ID and your QR code.** Nobody can check in for you. Your wristband only works on your race day, and you can enter early through spectator check-in with your athlete QR code.
- **Stash your valuables.** There are lockers at BITEC LIVE (G), Orange Void (B1) and Link Bridge (2nd floor).
- **Get cash on site.** There are ATMs at SAMA Green Village (G), SAMA Foodtory (B1) and in front of EH98 and EH104.
- **Plan your spectating.** One spectator ticket covers both halls on its date, but Elite Hall entry is first come, first served.
- **Note your start time.** It's published about three days before the race and can't be changed. The last wave starts around 20:20.
