## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

HYROX Dallas runs for five days at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, on the southern edge of downtown, using Halls B and C. Mid-November is usually mild, which suits a shakeout on the Katy Trail. The one thing to know: the center is mid-rebuild and the DART station beside it is closed to riders, so walk from Union Station.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Wednesday 18 to Sunday 22 November 2026
- **Venue:** Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, Halls B and C
- **Address:** 650 S Griffin St, Dallas, TX 75202
- **Nearest public transport:** EBJ Union Station (DART Red and Blue Lines, TRE), under 10 minutes' walk. Convention Center Station is closed to riders during construction.
- **Divisions:** Open and Pro singles, Adaptive, Doubles (Men, Women, Mixed), Pro Doubles, and Men's, Women's and Mixed Relays
- **Also on site:** The Thunderdome viewing area and the HYROX Entertainment Zone with event partners

### Getting to the venue

**From DFW Airport:** Take the DART Orange Line from DFW Airport Terminal A Station, near Gate A10. From other terminals, ride the free Skylink to Terminal A. West End Station downtown is about 50 minutes away. Change there to a southbound Red or Blue Line train for one stop to EBJ Union Station, then walk.

**From Dallas Love Field:** It's about 11 km (7 miles) from the venue. DART Route 5 Love Link connects the terminal to Inwood/Love Field Station for trains downtown. A taxi or ride-hail car is quicker if you have bags.

**By ride-hail or car:** The center's rideshare drop-off is on the Lower C Driveway between Lamar and Griffin Streets, although it can change by event.

### Where to stay

The **Reunion District** around Union Station and the **Cedars** just south are a short walk from the halls. Central **downtown** has more food and is still about 10 minutes on foot.

- **Omni Dallas Hotel:** It's linked to the convention center by a skybridge, so you can walk to check-in without going outside.
- **Aloft Dallas Downtown:** It's about 300 m from the convention center, with an outdoor pool and a gym.
- **Lorenzo Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton:** It's about a five-minute walk away, with a pool and a gym.
- **Courtyard Dallas Downtown/Reunion District:** It's about 650 m away near Union Station.
- **Hampton Inn & Suites Dallas Downtown:** It's about 800 m away, with an indoor pool and free breakfast before your heat.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **Hunger in the Wild (Design District):** Its website calls it an Official HYROX Training Club, with coached HYROX classes on race-standard equipment. A $30 drop-in pass is available, and classes run Monday to Thursday plus Saturday mornings.
- **GRIT Fitness (Design District):** Its HYROX page says it's an official HYROX Training Club, with HYROX Prep classes and open gym inside KO Boxing Studio. A day pass isn't confirmed, so ask about a guest pass before you go.
- **CrossFit Love Field (Love Field):** It runs CrossFit plus HYROX classes most weekdays and a HYROX class at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Drop-in prices aren't published.

### Where locals run

- **Katy Trail (Uptown):** This 5.6 km (3.5-mile) concrete path follows an old railroad line north from the American Airlines Center. It's mostly flat, has mile markers, and is open 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- **Trinity Skyline Trail (Trinity River):** About 7.4 km (4.6 miles) of paved path runs along the Trinity River levee just west of downtown, and you can join it from the Ronald Kirk Pedestrian Bridge. It's flat and has big skyline views, but there's very little shade.
- **White Rock Lake (East Dallas):** Dallas's classic long run is a 15 km (9.3-mile) trail around the lake in East Dallas. It's a drive from downtown.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Texas Spice (Omni Dallas Hotel):** It's the Omni's farm-to-market restaurant, with egg bowls and house-baked pastries.
- **El Fenix (Downtown):** This Tex-Mex chain dates back to 1918, and its flagship is on McKinney Avenue. Rice, beans and enchiladas make an easy carb load the night before.
- **Pecan Lodge (Deep Ellum):** It's one of the city's best-known barbecue spots. It's open daily from 11 a.m. until it sells out, so a brisket plate makes a good post-race refuel.
- **Monkey King Noodle Co. (Deep Ellum):** It's a casual noodle shop on Main Street. A big bowl of noodles makes a simple pre-race dinner.

### Race weekend events and parties

As of 15 October 2026, no official after-party, expo or community run had been announced for HYROX Dallas. The confirmed extras are the Thunderdome viewing area and the HYROX Entertainment Zone inside the venue. Watch HYROX's official channels and local HYROX gyms for shakeout runs closer to race week.

### After the race

**Recovery:**

- **Mokara Spa (Omni Dallas Hotel):** It's a full-service spa in the hotel next door, so you can book a massage without crossing town.
- **WorldSprings (The Colony):** It has more than 40 mineral pools, seven saunas and cold plunges at 7 to 13°C (45 to 55°F). It's a drive north of the city, and reservations are recommended.

**Things to do:**

- Visit **The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza**, about the assassination of President Kennedy, a short walk from the venue at 411 Elm St.
- Spend an afternoon at **Klyde Warren Park**, a 5.4-acre park over the freeway in the Arts District with food trucks.
- Walk around **Deep Ellum** for its bars, live music and barbecue.

### Local insights

- **The station next door is shut:** Trains pass through Convention Center Station without stopping. Walk from EBJ Union Station, or book a GoLink ride from Union Station or Cedars Station in the GoPass app.
- **Pay for DART in the app:** Buy passes in the GoPass app, on a GoPass Tap card, or at ticket machines that take cash and cards. DART checks tickets at random, so keep proof of payment until you leave the station.
- **DFW's train only leaves from Terminal A:** The Orange Line platform is at Terminal A. The Silver Line at Terminal B goes north to Plano, not downtown.
- **Prices don't include tax:** Dallas adds 8.25% sales tax at the till. Restaurants expect a tip of about 18 to 20% of the pre-tax bill.
- **Tap water is fine:** Dallas Water Utilities holds Texas's top "Superior" rating, and its 2025 report says the water is safe to drink.
- **Bring a card:** The convention center is cashless, though there are ATMs on Level 2 in the A and C Lobbies.
- **November is mild:** Average highs are about 20°C (68°F) and lows about 9°C (48°F). Early morning heats can feel chilly, so pack a warm layer for the walk in.
- **Tex-Mex is the local carb:** Enchiladas, rice, beans and tortillas are Dallas's comfort food, and locals eat them before a big effort.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Leave time for construction.** The center warns that rebuilding work and roadwork can make access and parking harder than usual.
- **Park early or skip the car.** ACE Parking runs the garage at Memorial Dr and S Griffin St ($20) and Lot C at 502 S Lamar St ($17). Both are first come, first served, with no in and out.
- **Bring ID and check in yourself.** On-site registration opens 90 minutes before your start, and nobody can check in for you.
- **Know your day.** Pro singles and all three relays race on Friday 20 November, with relays from 7:40 p.m. Pro Doubles race on Saturday evening.
- **Sort spectator tickets.** Friends need their own spectator ticket, and athletes can only watch on the day they race.
- **Food inside is limited.** Kay's Place (Starbucks coffee) and Go Natural (sandwiches, wraps and salads) are in the C Lobby on Level 2, but hours vary by event. Bring your own pre-race snack.
