## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

Fitness Park HYROX Paris runs across two race windows in December at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the big exhibition center on the southwest edge of the city. The venue has its own metro and tram stops, so it's easy to reach from almost anywhere in Paris.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Saturday 12 to Sunday 13 December, then Wednesday 16 to Sunday 20 December 2026
- **Venue:** Paris Expo Porte de Versailles
- **Address:** 1 Place de la Porte de Versailles, 75015 Paris
- **Nearest public transport:** Porte de Versailles (Metro line 12) and the Porte de Versailles – Parc des Expositions tram stop (T2 and T3a). Balard (Metro line 8) is a short walk away.
- **Divisions:** HYROX Men and Women, Pro Men and Women, Doubles (Men, Women, Mixed), Pro Doubles (Men, Women), Men's, Women's and Mixed Relays, plus Adaptive Men and Women
- **Also on the schedule:** HYROX Youngstars Paris for ages 8 to 15 on 19 and 20 December, and a Corporate Day on Monday 14 December

### Getting to the venue

**From Charles de Gaulle (CDG):** Take RER B toward the south of Paris to Cité Universitaire, then tram T3a west to Porte de Versailles – Parc des Expositions. Another option is the RoissyBus to Opéra, then the metro to line 12.

**From Orly:** Take Orlyval to Antony, then RER B north to Cité Universitaire and tram T3a to the venue. Alternatively, ride the Orlybus to Denfert-Rochereau, then RER B one stop to Cité Universitaire and switch to the T3a.

**From central Paris:** Metro line 12 runs directly to Porte de Versailles from Saint-Lazare, Concorde and Montparnasse. Line 8 to Balard is another good option. Tram T3a runs along the southern edge of the city, and T2 links the venue with Issy-les-Moulineaux and La Défense. Check the RATP or Île-de-France Mobilités planner for current service before you travel.

### Where to stay

**Porte de Versailles and the 15th arrondissement:** You can walk to the venue, and the area is quiet and residential, with plenty of cafés.

**Montparnasse:** A lively hub with lots of restaurants and a direct line 12 ride to the venue.

**Vanves and Issy-les-Moulineaux:** Just outside the city limits, right by the exhibition halls and the T2 and T3a trams.

Hotels to look at:

- **Novotel Paris Porte de Versailles:** On Avenue de la Porte de la Plaine, right beside the exhibition center.
- **Hotel Oceania Paris Porte de Versailles:** In the 15th, a few minutes' walk from the Porte de Versailles metro. It has an indoor pool and a fitness area.
- **Mercure Paris Porte de Versailles Expo:** On rue du Moulin in Vanves, a short walk from the halls and close to the metro and T3 tram.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **K-Gym Training (15th arrondissement):** A HYROX-focused small-group studio near the venue with sleds, SkiErgs and rowers. Its website offers a trial session, and it's also bookable through Urban Sports Club.
- **Forest Hill Aquaboulevard (15th arrondissement):** Runs a HYROX-inspired training program with running, rowing, SkiErg and sled work, and it's a short walk from Paris Expo. Check with the club about access for visitors.
- **Fitness Park Paris-Diderot (12th arrondissement):** The race's title partner runs HYROX-format classes in the club's Burning Park zone. It's near Gare de Lyon, a handy stop if you're arriving by train.

### Where locals run

- **Parc Georges-Brassens (15th arrondissement):** A 7.7-hectare park on the site of an old horse market and slaughterhouse, close to the venue (Porte de Vanves or Convention metro). Small, but fine for easy laps and strides.
- **Parc André Citroën (15th arrondissement):** A 14-hectare park on the Seine's left bank near Balard, the line 8 terminus a short walk from the venue. Run the lawns, then carry on along the river.
- **Île aux Cygnes (15th arrondissement):** A narrow island in the Seine whose tree-lined Allée des Cygnes runs its full 850 m length, with the small Statue of Liberty near the Pont de Grenelle. It's flat and traffic-free; Bir-Hakeim is the nearest metro.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Pedzouille La Grange (15th):** Hearty French food on the top floor of the Novotel Porte de Versailles, overlooking the city. Easy for a pre-race dinner without leaving the venue area.
- **Crêperie Josselin (Montparnasse):** A classic Breton crêperie on rue du Montparnasse. Buckwheat galettes are a good carb-heavy dinner the night before.
- **Pietro Vaugirard (15th):** An Italian restaurant on boulevard de Vaugirard with a pasta-heavy menu, good for carb-loading.
- **Joya Trattoria (15th, near Beaugrenelle):** A trattoria with lighter pizzas, a relaxed option the night before or after you race.

### Race weekend events and parties

The confirmed extras are HYROX Youngstars Paris (19 and 20 December), the Corporate Day on 14 December and an on-site Entertainment Zone with event partners. Spectator tickets for Youngstars and the main race cover both events. As of 15 October 2026, no official after-party, expo or community run had been announced. Check HYROX France's official channels and local run clubs closer to the date.

### After the race

**Recovery:**

- **Aquaboulevard (15th):** A large indoor water park next to the venue with a wellness area that includes a sauna, hammam and hot tubs. Check its website for current spa access rules.

**Things to do:**

- Walk through Parc André Citroën, a short stroll from Balard, then follow the Seine toward the Eiffel Tower.
- Browse a Christmas market. Several pop up around the city in December.
- Spend a slow afternoon at the Musée d'Orsay or the Louvre.
- Ride line 12 north to Montmartre for the views over the city.

### Local insights

- **No more paper tickets:** Cardboard t+ tickets disappeared from metro and RER stations in November 2025. Buy a Navigo Easy card for €2 at any machine and load tickets onto it, or use the Île-de-France Mobilités app. Tap-to-pay with a bank card is rolling out line by line, but line 12 isn't due until 2028, and card fares cost more than a regular ticket.
- **Service is included:** Restaurant prices already include service, so tipping is optional. Locals round up or leave a euro or two in cash for good service, since there's often no tip line on the card machine.
- **Ask for a carafe d'eau:** Paris tap water is safe, and restaurants will bring a free jug if you ask for "une carafe d'eau." Eau de Paris also runs about 1,200 public fountains and drinking points for refilling your bottle.
- **Say bonjour first:** Greet staff with "bonjour" (or "bonsoir" in the evening) when you walk into a shop or café. Skipping it comes across as rude.
- **Watch your pockets:** The metro and RER are known for pickpockets, especially on crowded trains. Keep your phone and wallet zipped away on race-day rides.
- **December weather:** Paris averages highs of about 8°C (46°F) and lows near 4°C (39°F) in December, with rain on about 11 days and under 60 hours of sunshine all month.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Plan around your window.** Racing is split between 12–13 and 16–20 December, so double-check your date before booking travel.
- **Arrive early.** Paris Expo is a big complex. Give yourself time to find the right hall, check in and drop your bag.
- **Bring ID.** Spectators arriving before their check-in window go through the Spectators Desk with a ticket and ID.
- **Use public transport.** The metro and tram stops are right outside, which is far simpler than driving and parking on a busy event day.
- **Weather:** Paris in December is usually cold and gray, with frequent drizzle. Pack a warm layer for the walk in and dry clothes for after.
