The racing is indoors, but outside you get about six hours of daylight and temperatures near freezing, so plan around the dark and the cold. In town, the **Helsinki Christmas Market** (Tuomaan markkinat) runs at Senate Square from 27 November to 22 December 2026. ### After the race **Recovery:** - **Kotiharjun Sauna (Kallio):** Helsinki's last public wood-burning sauna. No booking needed, €16, open Tuesday to Sunday from 14:00. - **Löyly (Hernesaari):** A sauna and restaurant on the Baltic shore. Book a public sauna slot ahead on its website. - **Allas Pool (Katajanokka):** Saunas and outdoor pools by the harbor, open weekends 8:00–21:00. **Things to do:** - Wander the **Helsinki Christmas Market** on Senate Square, open until 20:00 Friday and Saturday and 19:00 Sunday. - Ride the HSL ferry to **Suomenlinna**.
