## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

HYROX Nashville fills Music City Center for five days in December, steps from Lower Broadway's honky-tonks and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Most racers can walk from their hotel to the start line, so the main thing to plan is staying warm on cold December mornings.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Wednesday 9 to Sunday 13 December 2026
- **Venue:** Music City Center
- **Address:** 201 Rep. John Lewis Way S, Nashville, TN 37203
- **Nearest public transport:** WeGo Central bus station (400 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd), roughly a 20-minute walk north
- **Divisions:** HYROX Men and Women, Adaptive Men and Women, Doubles (Men, Women, Mixed), Pro Men and Women, Pro Doubles (Men and Women), and Men's, Women's and Mixed Relays
- **Also on site:** The HYROX Entertainment Zone with event partners, and the Thunderdome viewing area

### Getting to the venue

**From Nashville International Airport (BNA):** WeGo Route 18 costs $2 from the Ground Transportation Center, Level 1 of the Terminal 2 Garage. Express trips take about 20 minutes, local trips 35 to 45, ending at WeGo Central downtown.

**By taxi or ride-hail from BNA:** Taxis charge a $30 flat fare to downtown, plus $2 per extra passenger. Uber and Lyft pick up on Level 1 of Terminal Garage 2 (Lyft Zone A, Uber Zones B and C).

**By car:** The venue garage (701 Demonbreun St) is entered at 7th Avenue and Demonbreun or from 6th Avenue. Standard rates run from $15 for up to 5 hours to $45 overnight, with no re-entry.

### Where to stay

Downtown and **SoBro** (South of Broadway) put you minutes from the venue. **The Gulch**, just southwest, is calmer and has good breakfast spots.

- **Omni Nashville Hotel:** It's at 250 Rep. John Lewis Way S, right beside the venue, with a spa and a hot tub.
- **Embassy Suites by Hilton Nashville Downtown:** It's next to the venue and includes a cooked-to-order breakfast.
- **Residence Inn Nashville Downtown/Convention Center:** It's about 300 m away, with full kitchens for cooking your own pre-race meals.
- **Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown:** It's about 300 m away, with an indoor pool.
- **The Westin Nashville:** It's on the Gulch side of the venue, and its spa has a sauna and steam room.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **Nashville Performance Club (Hillsboro Village):** Opened in April 2026 with Eleiko kit, a sauna and three cold plunges. Its launch announcement mentioned HYROX race programming, which its own site doesn't confirm. There's no day pass, but new visitors can apply for a free training and recovery session.
- **Downtown YMCA (Downtown):** At 1000 Church St, with an indoor track, free weights, a sauna and a steam room. Day-pass availability isn't listed, so call 615-254-0631 first.
- **Barry's Nashville (The Gulch):** Fifty-minute classes alternate treadmill intervals with dumbbell work, a handy opener, though it's not a HYROX gym. First-timer offers are online.

### Where locals run

- **Cumberland River Greenway (Downtown):** This paved, fairly flat riverside path starts at the Country Music Hall of Fame, across the street from the venue, and runs about 5.6 km north.
- **John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge (Downtown):** Cross to the East Bank, loop through Cumberland Park and come back: a short shakeout with skyline views.
- **Centennial Park (West End):** A flat, paved 1.6 km loop past Lake Watauga, a short ride west along West End Avenue.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Arnold's Country Kitchen (Downtown):** A classic meat-and-three a few blocks from the venue. Pick one meat and three sides for a big carb-heavy lunch. Open weekdays 10:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- **Biscuit Love (The Gulch):** Scratch-made biscuits make an easy, carb-forward breakfast before a late-morning wave.
- **Hattie B's Hot Chicken (Lower Broadway):** A short walk from the venue. Hot chicken is the post-race treat; order a mild heat level if a flight is ahead.
- **City House (Germantown):** Pasta and pizza for a carb-load dinner. It opens at 5 p.m. and is closed on Tuesdays.

### Race weekend events and parties

As of 15 October 2026, no official after-party, expo or community run had been announced for HYROX Nashville. The confirmed extras are the on-site Entertainment Zone and the Thunderdome; the age-group ceremony schedule is still to be announced. Watch HYROX's official channels for news.

### After the race

**Recovery:**

- **Framework (Wedgewood-Houston):** Seven saunas and thirteen cold tubs just south of downtown; a first-timer pack is five sessions for $79.

**Things to do:**

- Visit the **Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum** across the street, open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Walk the **John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge** at dusk for the best view of the downtown skyline.
- See **Holiday LIGHTS at Cheekwood**, the botanical garden's light display, from 4:30 p.m. through 3 January.
- Go to **A Country Christmas at Gaylord Opryland**, running through 2 January.

### Local insights

- **Bus fare is $2, and Amex won't work:** WeGo takes contactless cards, mobile wallets, the QuickTicket app or exact cash, but not American Express. A tap buys a 2-hour pass, so transfers are free.
- **Taxi beats surge pricing:** The $30 airport flat rate is set by Metro rules, while Uber and Lyft can cost more at busy times.
- **Tax and tip aren't in the price:** Sales tax is added at the till (November's food tax cut covers groceries, not restaurants), and servers expect 18 to 20%.
- **Tap water is safe:** Metro Water Services says it meets all federal and state standards.
- **Eat a meat-and-three:** Nashville's plate lunch of one meat and three sides, often mac and cheese, potatoes and cornbread, is the local carb load.
- **Buy gels before Sunday:** Fleet Feet Green Hills (3900 Hillsboro Pike) opens only noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
- **It gets cold:** December averages 11°C (52°F) by day and 1°C (33°F) at night, so bring a warm layer for early waves.
- **No Titans home game on Sunday:** The Titans play at Detroit on 13 December, so there are no stadium crowds across the river.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Bring ID and come early.** On-site registration opens 90 minutes before your division's first start time. You can't check in for anyone else.
- **Check your start time.** Start times appear about three days before and can't be changed.
- **Get spectator tickets.** Friends and family need one, and athletes can only watch on their own race day.
- **Know your day.** Relays and Pro singles are on Friday, Pro Doubles on Saturday evening.
- **Walk if you can.** Special-event garage rates may apply, and downtown hotels are a short walk away.
