## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

Sweatpals HYROX Miami Beach is three days of racing at the Miami Beach Convention Center, a few blocks from the ocean in South Beach. Late March is usually warm and mostly dry, perfect for a shakeout on the Beachwalk. The one thing to know is that Ultra Music Festival and Miami Music Week fall on the same weekend, so book your room and flights early.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Friday 26 March to Sunday 28 March 2027
- **Venue:** Miami Beach Convention Center
- **Address:** 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139
- **Nearest public transport:** The free Miami Beach Trolley and Miami-Dade Metrobus routes stop at 17th Street, the convention center and Miami Beach City Hall, all within a short walk of the doors.
- **Divisions:** HYROX Men and Women, Adaptive Men and Women, Pro Men and Women, Doubles (Men, Women, Mixed), Pro Doubles (Men, Women), and Men's, Women's and Mixed Relays
- **Also on site:** HYROX Youngstars for ages 8 to 15 on 27 and 28 March, plus the HYROX Entertainment Zone and the Thunderdome viewing area

### Getting to the venue

**From Miami International Airport (MIA):** The convention center is about 19 km from MIA. The cheapest option is Metrobus Route 150, the Miami Beach Airport Express. It leaves from the MIA Metrorail station, which you reach on the free MIA Mover, then crosses the Julia Tuttle Causeway and runs down Collins Avenue and Washington Avenue as far as South Pointe. A single ride is $2.25. Uber and Lyft are easier with heavy bags.

**From downtown Miami:** Ride-hail over the MacArthur Causeway is simplest. Metrobus routes cross the bay too; check the GO Miami-Dade Transit app.

**Driving:** The convention center garage charges a $20 flat fee and is open 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. City garages on 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue are close by.

### Where to stay

South Beach around Collins Avenue between 15th and 23rd Streets puts you within walking distance of the venue, the beach and Lincoln Road. Mid-Beach, around 27th to 41st Streets, is quieter and often better value, and the free trolley and Route 150 run along it.

- **Loews Miami Beach Hotel:** On Collins Avenue at 16th Street, a short walk from the venue, with a spa and a fitness center.
- **Royal Palm South Beach Miami:** A beachfront hotel at 1545 Collins Avenue, a short walk south of the convention center.
- **Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel:** A renovated boutique hotel at 1717 Collins Avenue, a few blocks from the venue.
- **Freehand Miami:** A boutique hotel in Mid-Beach at 2727 Indian Creek Drive. It's usually cheaper than South Beach and a trolley or ride-hail hop from the venue.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **Miami Beach Fitness (South Beach):** At 930 Alton Road, it says it is a HYROX Training Club and Florida's first official HYROX affiliate, with weekday 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. sessions. Drop-in or day-pass availability isn't confirmed, so contact the gym first.
- **Anatomy Miami Beach (South Beach):** At 1614 Alton Road, about a 10-minute walk from the venue. It offers a complimentary guest pass and has an outdoor workout area plus saunas and cold plunges. HYROX-specific kit isn't listed.
- **Equinox South Beach (South Beach):** At 520 Collins Avenue, with a strength floor and steam rooms. Guest-pass terms aren't published, so call ahead.

### Where locals run

- **Miami Beach Beachwalk (South Beach):** A paved, flat oceanfront path running about 14 km from South Pointe Park to 87th Street, open 24 hours. Walk east from the venue to the beach for an easy 3 to 5 km shakeout.
- **South Pointe Park (South Beach):** The southern end of the Beachwalk, with wide paths and views over Government Cut.
- **Flamingo Park (South Beach):** An eight-lane running track at 11th Street and Jefferson Avenue, open 6:15 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call the park to confirm public access before you go.
- **Venetian Causeway (Venetian Islands):** A 4.5 km causeway between Miami Beach and the mainland, popular with joggers and cyclists. It's flat apart from the small bridges.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Bella Cuba (South Beach):** A family-run Cuban restaurant at 1659 Washington Avenue, around the corner from the venue. Traditional Cuban plates with rice make an easy carb-loading dinner.
- **Joe's Stone Crab (South Beach):** A Miami Beach institution since 1913 at 11 Washington Avenue. Save it for a post-race feast. Joe's Take Away next door needs no reservation.
- **Lucali Miami Beach (Sunset Harbour):** Brooklyn-style pizza and calzones at 1930 Bay Road, a short walk from the venue. A solid pre-race dinner.
- **Pura Vida (South Beach):** A healthy café at 110 Washington Avenue with egg breakfasts, burritos and smoothies before a morning heat.
- **Versailles Restaurant (Little Havana):** The classic Cuban restaurant on Calle Ocho, at 3555 SW 8th Street. Order a Cuban sandwich and a cafecito from the ventanita window.

### Race weekend events and parties

The confirmed extras are the HYROX Entertainment Zone with event partners, the Thunderdome viewing area, age-group award ceremonies after each division finishes, and HYROX Youngstars. As of 15 October 2026, no official after-party, expo or community run had been announced. Watch HYROX's official channels and the race sponsor Sweatpals for news closer to the date.

### After the race

**Recovery:**

- **Anatomy Miami Beach (South Beach):** Its Wellness Sanctuary has outdoor saunas, hot and cold plunges and a eucalyptus steam room. Ask about the guest pass.
- **Loews Miami Beach Hotel (South Beach):** The Sea Spa offers massages and treatments a short walk from the venue.

**Things to do:**

- Join a walking tour of the **Art Deco Historic District**, starting at the Art Deco Welcome Center at 1001 Ocean Drive.
- See the contemporary art at **The Bass** in Collins Park, just north of the venue.
- Head over the causeway to see the murals at **Wynwood Walls**.
- Eat and wander along Calle Ocho in **Little Havana**.

### Local insights

- **Book early because of Ultra:** Ultra Music Festival takes over Bayfront Park in downtown Miami on 26 to 28 March 2027, and Miami Music Week runs 22 to 28 March. Expect higher hotel prices and busier roads.
- **Ride the free trolley:** The city's free trolley runs 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, roughly every 20 minutes. The city pays for the premium tier of the Transit app so you can track it live.
- **Tap to pay on the bus:** Metrobus single rides start at $2.25, and contactless payments are capped at $5.65 a day. You can also load an EASY Card in the GO Miami-Dade Transit app.
- **Expect summer weather in March:** Average March highs are about 25°C (77°F), with lows around 18°C (65°F) and little rain. Bring sunscreen and electrolytes for the walk to the venue.
- **Order a cafecito at a ventanita:** Cuban coffee from a walk-up window, like the one at Versailles, is how Miami fuels up.
- **Joe's Stone Crab is seasonal:** Joe's closes in the late summer and reopened on 16 October 2026, so late March falls within its season.
- **Try Freebee in Mid-Beach:** The free on-demand Freebee shuttle covers the first and last mile to trolley and bus stops in Mid-Beach.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Bring ID to check in.** You must bring ID, and nobody can check in for you. Registration opens 90 minutes before your division's first start wave.
- **Check your start time three days out.** Individual start times are posted about three days before the race and can't be changed.
- **Spectators need tickets.** Spectators who want to enter the hall before your check-in window go through the Spectators Desk with a ticket and ID.
- **Pack for the sun.** Late-March sun is strong, so bring a hat and water for the walk back.
