## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

HYROX Taipei runs from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 March 2027 in Hall 1 of the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre, at the end of the Blue and Brown metro lines. Mid-March is mild and humid, and beef noodle soup is never far away. The one thing to know: you can't eat or drink anything on the metro, not even water.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Friday 12 March to Sunday 14 March 2027
- **Venue:** Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre (Hall 1)
- **Address:** No. 1, Jingmao 2nd Rd., Nangang District, Taipei City 11568, Taiwan
- **Nearest public transport:** Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center station (Blue Line BL23 and Brown Line BR24, the last stop on both), with a street-level exit to the halls
- **Divisions:** Open and Pro singles, Adaptive (Men and Women), Doubles and Pro Doubles (including Mixed), and Relays (Men, Women and Mixed)
- **Also on site:** A hydration station on the course and Sportograf race photos

### Getting to the venue

**From Taoyuan International Airport:** Take the Airport MRT express to Taipei Main Station (35 to 37 minutes, every 15 minutes, NT$160 published fare), then the Blue Line east to the end. To skip the change, Kuo-Kuang bus 1843 links the airport and Nangang Exhibition Hall in about 1 hour 20 minutes.

**From Taipei Main Station or the city center:** The Blue Line runs through Taipei Main Station, Ximen and Taipei City Hall straight to the venue.

**By high-speed rail or train:** Get off at Nangang Station and ride the Blue Line one stop east.

### Where to stay

Stay in Nangang for an early wave. Xinyi has more restaurants and nightlife, and Taipei Main Station is handy for the Airport MRT; both are on the Blue Line.

- **Forward Hotel Nangang (Nangang):** On Sanchong Road, about 500 m from Hall 1, with its own gym.
- **Green World NanGang (Nangang):** The hotel group says it's close to Nangang Station and the exhibition center.
- **Grand Hyatt Taipei (Xinyi):** Next to Taipei 101. Hyatt is HYROX's official regional hotel partner here, with member perks.
- **Green World Station (Zhongzheng):** Near Taipei Main Station for the Airport MRT, high-speed rail and Blue Line.
- **Green World Songshan (Songshan):** A good-value base near Songshan Station and Raohe Street Night Market.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **World Gym Elite Minsheng (Minsheng):** Opened Taipei's first HYROX Training Zone on 2 October 2026, about 7,500 sq ft with rowers, SkiErgs, sleds and medicine balls. Day passes are NT$850 at this premium branch.
- **World Gym 101 (Xinyi):** The other premium branch, also NT$850 a day. World Gym advertises HYROX training classes; ask which branches have the full kit.
- **Nangang Sports Center (Nangang):** A city sports center on Yucheng Street, open daily 06:00–22:00, with a gym on 2F. Wear sports clothes and shoes (no jeans) and bring a towel. Fees aren't published online.

### Where locals run

- **Rainbow Riverside Park (Songshan):** Flat paths along the Keelung River by Rainbow Bridge. Run west on the south bank, or cross to Neihu Sports Park's track on the north bank.
- **Dajia Riverside Park (Zhongshan):** The classic Keelung River start, near the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. The south-bank path runs 9.1 km east, a two-bank loop is up to 16.6 km, and restrooms are good. On the south side you climb stairs over the flood wall about every km.
- **Daan Forest Park (Da'an):** A 26-hectare city park with a jogging loop and two ponds. Daan Park station is at its northern end.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Lao Shan Dong Homemade Noodles (Wanhua):** Beef noodles since 1949, in a basement near Ximen station on the Blue Line. Slow-cooked broth, noodles hand-pulled to order. Open daily 10:30–21:30, cash only.
- **Din Tai Fung Xinyi Road (Da'an):** The chain's original 1972 address; dine-in is now across the street. Soup dumplings make an easy carb load. Open daily 10:45–20:30.
- **Huang Chi Lu Rou Fan (Zhongshan):** Michelin-listed braised pork rice, Taipei's everyday comfort meal. Closed Monday and Thursday but open across race weekend, 11:30–20:00. Cash only.
- **LaLaport Taipei Nangang (Nangang):** A mall about 6 minutes' walk from the venue's station, with a food court of central and southern Taiwanese specialties. The easiest meal between heats.
- **Raohe Street Night Market (Songshan):** 600 m of food stalls just north of Exit 5 at Songshan station, for a post-race graze.

### Race weekend events and parties

As of 15 October 2026, no official after-party, expo or community run had been announced. Age-group award times are still to be confirmed. World Gym plans HYROX mini races at clubs around Taiwan in January and February 2027. Watch HYROX's official channels.

### After the race

**Recovery:**

- **Beitou hot springs (Beitou):** More than 30 hot spring resorts, about 20 minutes north by metro.
- **Nangang Sports Center pool (Nangang):** A B1 swimming pool for an easy recovery swim close to the venue.

**Things to do:**

- Visit the **Beitou Hot Spring Museum**, then walk up to steaming **Thermal Valley**.
- See **Ciyou Temple**, founded in 1753, at the east end of Raohe Street Night Market.
- Drop into the **Lingnan Fine Arts Museum**, right by the venue's metro station.

### Local insights

- **Tap your bank card:** Since 1 July 2026, metro gates take contactless Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Discover and Diners Club cards, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay. On an iPhone, turn on Express Transit. Card fares don't earn Frequent Rider rewards. An EasyCard from any station or convenience store still works.
- **Nothing to eat or drink on the metro:** Eating, drinking (water included) and gum are banned, with fines of NT$1,500 to NT$7,500. With low blood sugar or medication, tell station staff first. Finish your shake before you go in.
- **Tap water:** The Taipei Water Department says it meets international standards, but locals often boil or filter it because of old building tanks and pipes. Use your hotel's filtered water if offered.
- **Carry your rubbish:** Public bins are rare; residents hand trash to garbage trucks that play Für Elise. Keep a bag for gel wrappers.
- **No tipping:** Tipping isn't expected. Many restaurants and hotels add a 10% service charge instead.
- **Taxis and rides:** Taxis are metered from NT$85 for the first 1.25 km, with a NT$20 surcharge from 23:00 to 06:00. Carry your hotel's address in traditional Chinese. Uber also operates legally in Taipei.
- **Bring cash:** Cards work at most hotels, but Lao Shan Dong, Huang Chi and many cheap eats are cash only.
- **March weather:** Highs average about 23°C (73°F) and lows about 16°C (61°F). It rains on about 14 days in March and humidity averages 76%, so pack a rain shell and drink more than you think.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Go to Hall 1.** Hall 2 is next door at No. 2 Jingmao 2nd Rd., so check the number before you walk in.
- **Bring photo ID.** You need it to check in, and nobody can check in for you. Check-in times were still TBC as of 15 October 2026.
- **Arrive early through spectator check-in.** On your race day you can enter before your check-in window by scanning your athlete ticket QR code there.
- **Get a spectator ticket for other days.** Your wristband only works on your own race day, and friends need spectator tickets too.
- **Check your start time.** They come out about three days before and can't be changed. Last waves go around 20:10 Friday and Sunday, 20:20 Saturday.
