## Race weekend guide (checked 2026-10-15)

The Feed HYROX Denver brings four days of racing to the Stockyards Event Center at the National Western Center just north of downtown. Mid-November averages a crisp 12°C (53°F) by day and below freezing at night, with snow possible. The one thing to know is the altitude: Denver sits at 1,610 m (5,280 ft), so the runs and the SkiErg will feel harder than they do at home.

### Race weekend at a glance

- **Dates:** Thursday 12 November to Sunday 15 November 2026
- **Venue:** Stockyards Event Center, National Western Center
- **Address:** 5115 Race Ct, Denver, CO 80216. The spectator ticket page also lists 5004 and 4850 National Western Drive on the same campus, so follow the entrance details in your athlete email.
- **Nearest public transport:** RTD N Line to 48th & Brighton/National Western Center station, one stop from Union Station. Local guides call it a short walk, but the campus is big, so allow extra time.
- **Divisions:** Open singles (Men, Women), Pro singles, Doubles (Men, Women, Mixed), Pro Doubles, Relays (Men, Women, Mixed) and Adaptive. Relays and Pro singles race on Friday.

### Getting to the venue

**From Denver International Airport (DEN):** Take the RTD A Line to Union Station: about 37 minutes, every 15 minutes from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., for a $10 fare. At Union Station, change to the N Line for one stop north to 48th & Brighton/National Western Center.

**From downtown and Union Station:** The N Line runs from Union Station to 48th & Brighton/National Western Center, its only other Denver stop. Bus 48 from Civic Center Station also stops nearby.

**By car:** The venue advertises ample on-site parking, but lots and fees vary by event, so check your race email before you drive.

### Where to stay

Base yourself at Union Station, one N Line stop from the venue and the end of the airport train, or in RiNo (River North Art District), which stretches toward the campus along Brighton Boulevard.

- **The Crawford Hotel:** Inside Denver Union Station at 1701 Wynkoop Street, so the airport train and the N Line to the venue leave from under your room.
- **The Source Hotel:** At 3330 Brighton Boulevard in RiNo, on the road that leads to the campus, with a rooftop pool and a market hall downstairs.
- **Catbird:** At 3770 Walnut Street in RiNo. Its lofted studios and suites have full kitchens, which is handy if you want to cook your own pre-race pasta and oats.
- **The Westin Denver International Airport:** Right beside the airport's A Line station, a sensible pick if you have an early flight home on Monday.

### Gyms for pre-race training

- **CrossFit Wash Park (South Denver):** At 1200 West Evans Avenue. It runs an eight-week HYROX Training Camp for members and non-members that builds toward this race, with SkiErg, sled and wall-ball work. Single-class and one-week drop-ins are listed, but prices aren't, so contact the gym first.
- **VASA Fitness Havana Gardens (Aurora):** One of VASA.s first HYROX Training Clubs (September 2026), with wall-ball targets and sleds on turf. Day-pass availability isn't confirmed.
- **CrossFit Verve (RiNo):** At 3545 Larimer Street, close to the RiNo hotels. It sells drop-ins online. No HYROX classes are advertised.

### Where locals run

- **Washington Park (Washington Park):** A popular running park, with a 3.7 km (2.3-mile) paved inner loop and a 4.2 km (2.6-mile) dirt outer loop around two lakes. Flat; take a short rideshare from the hotels.
- **City Park (City Park):** A 330-acre park just over 1.6 km (1 mile) east of downtown, with paths around Ferril Lake and Duck Lake. Finish at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science on its high point for skyline and mountain views.
- **South Platte River Trail (Globeville):** The National Western Center's Riverfront open space links to the South Platte River Greenway, so you can shake out from the venue itself. Globeville to Confluence Park and back is about 8 km (5 miles), and it's flat. Expect occasional detours.

### Where to eat and fuel up

- **Santiago's (Art District on Santa Fe):** A local chain known for breakfast burritos smothered in Hatch green chile. The 571 Santa Fe Drive branch is closest to downtown.
- **La Abeja (East Colfax):** Westword's pick for a filled or smothered green chile breakfast burrito, at about $10 to $11.
- **Denver Central Market (RiNo):** A food hall at 2669 Larimer Street with 11 vendors. Vero does wood-fired pizza and handmade pasta, which makes it an ideal carb-loading stop the night before.
- **Snooze (Union Station):** The breakfast spot inside Union Station, handy for a post-race brunch.

### Race weekend events and parties

As of 15 October 2026, no official after-party, expo or community run had been announced for HYROX Denver. Age-group ceremonies follow each division, with times still to be announced. The ticketing page names The Feed as title partner, so watch HYROX's official channels and The Feed's channels for any additions.

### After the race

**Recovery:**

- **ROK SPAS (Union Station):** At 2025 17th Street, a 40-seat cedar sauna at 90°C (194°F) and five cold plunges from 3 to 13°C (37 to 55°F), open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

**Things to do:**

- Drive about 16 km southwest to **Red Rocks Amphitheatre**, the sandstone venue near Morrison, which sits at 1,970 m (6,450 ft).
- Stand on the mile-high benchmark on the steps of the **Colorado State Capitol**, which marks the city's official elevation.
- Spend an afternoon at the **Denver Museum of Nature & Science** in City Park.
- Walk around **Denver Union Station**, the restored rail hall that the 105th meridian, the reference line for Mountain Time, runs right through.

### Local insights

- **Respect the altitude:** At 1,610 m, Visit Denver suggests that if you usually run 16 km a day at home, you should try about 10 km here until you adjust.
- **Drink twice as much water:** The air is dry, and the tourism board says to drink roughly double your usual amount.
- **Wear sunscreen in November:** There's about 25% less sun protection at this elevation, so wear sunscreen even on a cold shakeout.
- **Go easy on the beer:** Drinks hit harder until you acclimatize, so save the brewery crawl for Sunday night.
- **Pack for all four seasons:** November averages a high of 11.6°C (52.9°F) and a low of −3.3°C (26°F), with about 19 cm (7.3 in) of snow over the month and only about 10 hours of daylight. It can change fast, so check the forecast daily.
- **Tap to ride:** RTD's Tap-n-Ride accepts Visa and Mastercard plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, with free three-hour transfers and a daily cap. Local fares are $2.75 for three hours and $5.50 for a day, while trips to or from the airport cost $10. Use the same card or phone every time.
- **Learn the local green chile:** Colorado green chile is a thick, often orange, pork-studded stew, usually ladled over a breakfast burrito. Order it on a burrito the morning before you race, not on race day itself.
- **Double-check the building:** The campus has several halls and addresses, so read your athlete email for the right entrance before you set off.

### Race-day tips for this venue

- **Bring photo ID.** Nobody can check in for you, and on-site registration opens 90 minutes before your division's first start.
- **Check your start time three days out.** Start times go up about three days before and can.t be changed.
- **Sort spectator tickets early.** Tickets are sold through Humanitix and can't be refunded or moved to another day. Children under 12 get free tickets with an adult.
- **Dress for a cold walk in.** First waves start at 8:00, and November mornings are often below freezing, so bring a warm layer.
- **Arrive early for accessible parking.** Accessible spaces need a valid disability placard or plate and go on a first-come, first-served basis.

### FAQ
