HYROX Abu Dhabi runs over three days at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, a huge exhibition complex about 15 minutes from the airport, with hotels connected to the halls. The one thing to know: Friday 23 October is a women-only day for athletes and spectators alike. Late October is still hot outside, so plan your shakeout runs and walks for early morning or after dark.

The Capital Centre district around ADNEC is the easiest base, because several hotels are a few minutes' walk from the halls and two are directly connected. Al Qana, a short taxi ride away, has the closest cluster of restaurants.

Get a Hafilat card for buses
Abu Dhabi buses don't take cash. You tap a Hafilat smart card when you board, and you can top it up at fare machines or in the Darb app.
Use the Abu Dhabi Taxi app, Uber or Careem
TransAD's official taxis can be booked through the Abu Dhabi Taxi app or on 600 535 353. Uber and Careem charge your card in the app.
Tipping is optional
Visit Abu Dhabi says tipping isn't expected but is common. Many restaurants already add a 10% service charge and a 6% tourism fee. If they don't, 10–15% is normal.
Tap water is safe but tastes off
Abu Dhabi's water company (ADDC) says tap water meets WHO-based standards. Water quality also depends on each building's tanks, and it often tastes hard and runs warm, so many people still prefer bottled or filtered water.
October is warm, not cool
Expect highs around 35°C (95°F) with humidity often above 60%. Nights cool to around 21°C (70°F) by late month, so do outdoor sessions early or after sunset.
Machboos is the local carb meal
This spiced rice with meat or fish is the Emirati dish to eat before a big effort, and it's easy to find in Emirati restaurants.
Dress modestly for the mosque
The Grand Mosque asks all visitors to wear long, loose clothing to the ankles, and women need to cover their hair. Pack one modest outfit if you plan to go.
Getting to ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi
From Zayed International Airport (AUH)
ADNEC says the airport is about 15 minutes away by road. Visit Abu Dhabi puts a taxi from the airport into town at roughly AED 70–80, and Uber and Careem both operate in the city. ADNEC offers 15% off Careem rides to and from the venue with the promo code ADNEC.
From central Abu Dhabi and the Corniche
Take a taxi, Uber or Careem, or ride bus 040, which stops at ADNEC. Buses take the Hafilat smart card, not cash.
By car
If you drive, ADNEC has car parks for up to 6,000 vehicles, but HYROX says spaces are first come, first served.

Friday is women only for athletes and spectators, so male friends and family should plan to watch on Saturday or Sunday.

You need it to check in, and spectators who arrive early go through the Spectators Desk with a ticket and ID.

Arrive early if driving
On-site parking is first come, first served. Car Park A is by the Aloft and Car Park B is by the Andaz, so a taxi or ride-hail is often less stressful.

The halls are air-conditioned, but the walk outside isn't. Carry water and keep a dry layer for the cold indoor air after you finish.
