HYROX comes to Gujarat for three days of racing at the Helipad Exhibition Center in Gandhinagar, the state's leafy, planned capital about half an hour from Ahmedabad airport. The state government expects more than 10,000 people, over 1,000 of them from abroad. The one thing to know: Gujarat is a dry state, so plan your post-race celebration around that, and budget time for the drive in from Ahmedabad.

Central Gandhinagar, around Sectors 11 and 14, keeps you a short ride from the venue. Sargasan and Kudasan, on the road to Ahmedabad, have newer hotels, gyms and restaurants. GIFT City is the only place nearby where visitors can legally drink without a permit.

It's a dry state
Gujarat bans the sale and consumption of alcohol. Foreign visitors can get a liquor permit with a passport and visa and buy from authorized hotel liquor shops. Since December 2025, visitors from outside Gujarat can drink at designated hotels and restaurants in GIFT City by showing photo ID.
Carry cash and a card
UPI QR codes are everywhere, but most foreign visitors can't use UPI without an Indian bank account. NPCI's UPI One World prepaid wallet for visitors has only had a limited rollout, so bring rupees and a Visa or Mastercard.
Uber is the easy option
Uber runs 24/7 at Ahmedabad airport and offers autos, AC cars and intercity cabs to Gandhinagar. Ola also operates here. Check live fares in the app, because prices change with demand.
Thali is the local carb load
Gujarati thalis are unlimited vegetarian platters of rice, dal, breads, kadhi and snacks such as dhokla and khaman. Expect sweeter dishes than elsewhere in India, and ask for less sweet if you prefer.
Late November is warm and dry
Expect highs of roughly 28–33°C (82–91°F), lows around 15–18°C (59–64°F), and almost no rain. Pack a light layer for early mornings.
Watch the air quality
Winter pollution usually starts building in late November in Gujarat. CPCB data showed Ahmedabad moving from "Good" (AQI 48) on 1 November 2025 to "Moderate" (AQI 156) by 18 November. Check the AQI before an outdoor shakeout, and run indoors if it's high.
Getting to Helipad Exhibition Center
From Ahmedabad airport (AMD)
Uber puts the trip from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport to Gandhinagar at about 14 km and 25 minutes. Its recent average fares were around ₹475 for an air-conditioned Uber Go and about ₹270 for an auto-rickshaw, and Uber runs at the airport 24/7. There's no metro to the airport.
From Ahmedabad city
Take Uber, Ola or a taxi straight to the venue. Uber lists intercity cab fares of roughly ₹780–1,550 for the 37 km trip. Or ride the metro's Red Line north from Motera into Gandhinagar. GSRTC buses also run between the two cities.

Parties, expos and side events
As of 15 October 2026, HYROX had not announced an official after-party or community run for HYROX Gujarat. The venue will have the usual HYROX Entertainment Zone with partners. The Gujarat government says it is planning cultural programs for athletes, including a "Bhajan Clubbing" evening hosted by the state tourism corporation, but no dates or venues had been published. HYROX doesn't accept digital copies or photos, and nobody can check in for you.

Registration for each division opens 90 minutes before its first wave, and start times are posted about three days before the event.

It's a three-day event in a city of wide, spread-out sectors, so have Uber ready or arrange a driver through your hotel.
