Post yours →How to choose a HYROX Doubles partner
- Match your running pace. In Doubles you run all 8 km side by side, so the slower runner sets the pace. A big gap in running pace is hard to win back on the stations.
- Complement each other on the stations. You can split the work however you like, so a strong sled pusher and a fast rower cover more ground than two of the same.
- Agree on the goal. A fun first race and a podium attempt are different days out. Say which one in your post.
- Train together before race day. Even two or three sessions sort out station splits, hand-offs and how you talk when it hurts.
Building a Relay team
- Four athletes, two legs each. Every teammate runs 2 km and does two stations, so you can place people where they're strongest.
- Have a team but one short? Post as "has a team, needs teammates" and say which stations you still need to cover.
- On your own? Post as "looking for a relay team" with the stations you'd like to do.
Questions
- How do I find a HYROX Doubles partner?
- Add the race you're entered in to your RoxSkin dashboard, then post what you're looking for: division, your level, a target time and a short note. Other athletes racing the same event can message you, and you can browse and message theirs. Start with someone whose 1 km running pace is close to yours.
- Can I find a HYROX Relay team if I don't know anyone racing?
- Yes. Post as "looking for a relay team" for your race, or browse teams that already have members and need one or two more. A Relay team is four athletes, each running 2 km and doing two stations.
- Is my email shared when someone messages me?
- No. Messages go through RoxSkin: you get an email with the message and a link to reply from your dashboard. Only your first name and city are shown on your post. Swap contact details yourselves once you've agreed to race together.
- What should I look for in a HYROX partner?
- A similar running pace matters most, because in Doubles you run every kilometre together. Then look for complementary station strengths, the same goal (a fun first race or a fast time), and someone you can train with at least a few times before race day.
