Questions
How early should I arrive at a HYROX race?+
The official HYROX FAQs suggest about 60 to 90 minutes before your start time. That gives you time to check in with your photo ID and registration, collect your number and timing chip, drop your bag 45 to 60 minutes before your wave, and warm up. Be at the start tunnel 10 minutes before your wave for the briefing.
When should I eat breakfast before HYROX?+
Eat a familiar, carb-based meal that's low in fat and fiber 2 to 4 hours before your wave, then a small snack 30 to 90 minutes before. With an early wave, keep breakfast smaller and eat it about 2.5 hours out. Don't try anything new on race day.
How should I warm up for HYROX?+
Start 20 to 30 minutes before your wave and finish close to your start so you don't cool down: about 5 minutes of easy jogging, dynamic mobility like leg swings, hip openers and walking lunges, a few short strides, then a handful of air squats, burpees and light lunges. Keep it short and easy.
What do I need to bring to a HYROX race?+
Photo ID, your registration confirmation and your start time are the must-haves. Add shoes you've trained in, race clothes, socks, a water bottle, a pre-race snack, any gels you'll carry, a warm layer, and a full change of clothes for afterwards. Plan on no showers, and leave valuables at home.
