Medicover Sport HYROX Warsaw brings five days of racing to PGE Narodowy, the national stadium built for Euro 2012 on the Praga side of the Vistula. Warsaw is one of the fastest-growing races on the calendar: GSMONLINE reported a record 14,000 athletes in April 2026. The one thing to know is that the airport train runs straight to the stadium, as long as you board an S2 and not an S3.

Checked 15 October 2026. Details change, so confirm bookings directly.

Your weekend in Warsaw, mapped

Hotels near the venue, gyms for a shakeout session, where to fuel up and where to recover.

Praga: The stadium's side of the river, now one of Warsaw's trendiest areas.

Powiśle and Nowy Świat: Across the river, with more food and a short metro or tram ride to the venue.

Old Town: Good for sightseeing after racing.

Local insights for Warsaw

The things a friend who lives here would tell you before race weekend.

  • One ticket for everything

ZTM tickets work on the metro, trams, buses and SKM trains. Options include 75-minute, 24-hour, 72-hour and weekend tickets. Validate paper tickets as soon as you board, or at the gates before metro platforms. Inspectors are strict.

  • Machines on board take cards

Ticket machines inside trams and buses take cards or BLIK, not cash. If you buy in the Jakdojade app, the ticket isn't active until you scan the QR sticker near the doors.

  • Use apps, not airport touts

Bolt and Uber both work in Warsaw. At the airport, ignore the touts outside Arrivals and use the official taxi kiosk or an app.

  • Sunday 11 April is a non-trading Sunday

Poland's Sunday trading ban closes supermarkets and malls on most Sundays. Pharmacies, petrol-station shops and bakeries can stay open. If you race on Sunday, buy breakfast and snacks on Saturday.

  • No holiday clash

Easter falls on 28 March in 2027, and Easter Monday is a public holiday. Both are over before race week, so expect normal shop hours and transit service from Wednesday to Saturday.

  • April is cool and changeable

NOAA-based records give average highs around 13°C (56°F) and lows around 3°C (37°F), with rain on about a third of days.

  • Drink the tap water

Tap water is safe across Poland. Restaurants often bring bottled water, so ask for tap if you want it.

  • Paying and tipping

Cards are accepted almost everywhere. If asked, choose to pay in złoty rather than your home currency. About 10% is a normal restaurant tip, and saying "dziękuję" as you hand over cash means keep the change. There's no tipping custom for taxi drivers.

Getting to PGE Narodowy

  • From Warsaw Chopin Airport

Take SKM line S2, which stops at Warszawa Stadion with no change. Wikivoyage puts the ride downtown at about 25 minutes, with trains roughly every 30 minutes. Don't board the S3, which skips Stadion. A zone 1 ZTM ticket is valid.

  • From Warsaw Modlin Airport

Koleje Mazowieckie's RL service runs direct to Warszawa Centralna. Then take a tram east to Rondo Waszyngtona.

  • From the city center

Metro M2 runs to Stadion Narodowy. From Warszawa Centralna, trams 7, 9, 22, 24 and 25 cross the river to Rondo Waszyngtona, a ride that one stadium guide puts at under 15 minutes.

Race-day tips for PGE Narodowy

  1. 1

    Board the right train

Only S2 stops at Warszawa Stadion. SKM sometimes reroutes S2 for stadium events, so check its notices.

  2. 2

    Arrive early

Race-day check-in opens 90 minutes before your division's first wave. You can only check in on your own competition day, and you need ID.

  3. 3

    Check your start time

HYROX says individual start times are posted about three days before the event and can't be changed.

  4. 4

    Sort spectator tickets

Friends need their own spectator tickets. Anyone entering before their check-in window goes through the Spectators Desk with a ticket and ID.

  5. 5

    Dress for the walk

April can be cold and wet, so bring dry layers for the trip home.
