How much does HYROX cost? Tickets, Flex add-on, refunds and sell-outs
A HYROX Singles ticket usually costs the equivalent of roughly US$130 to US$200, depending on the country, the event and your division. In October 2026 that meant roughly £128 in London, €119 in Hamburg, US$195 in Washington, D.C. and HK$1,080 in Hong Kong. Doubles and Relay cost less per person, and spectators pay about £10 to HK$200. This guide breaks down real example prices, the Flex add-on and refund rules, how fast races sell out, whether you can switch division, and what a whole race weekend really costs.
How much does a HYROX ticket cost?
There's no single global price. HYROX prices each event in local currency, and prices differ by division (Singles, Doubles, Relay, Adaptive) and sometimes by how close to race day you buy. On top of the ticket price, a service fee is added at checkout.
Here's what we found on current ticket trackers and event listings. Treat these as examples, not quotes, and always check the live price on your event's ticket page.
| Event (date checked) | Singles | Doubles (per person) | Relay (per person) |
|---|---|---|---|
| London ExCeL, Dec 2026 (Oct 15, 2026) | £128 | £123 | £75 |
| Hamburg, Oct–Nov 2026 (Oct 15, 2026) | €119 | €114 | €75 |
| Düsseldorf / Frankfurt, late 2026 (Oct 3, 2026) | €129 / €119 | lower than Singles | lower than Singles |
| Washington, D.C., 26/27 (Sep 8, 2026) | US$195 | US$185 | US$95 |
| Rio de Janeiro, 26/27 | R$599 | R$549 | R$359 |
| Hong Kong, Jan 2027 (Oct 15, 2026) | HK$1,080 | HK$1,025 | HK$780 |
A few patterns hold across countries:
- Open and Pro cost the same at most events. You don't pay extra to lift heavier.
- Doubles is priced per person, usually a little below the Singles price. Two people in Doubles pay almost double a single ticket in total.
- Relay is the cheapest way in, often around half the Singles price per person, because you only run two of the eight kilometers and do two stations.
- Adaptive tickets are priced like Singles on the trackers we checked.
- Service fees are extra. One US event listing showed a 6.5% fee added at checkout, so budget a few dollars, pounds or euros on top.
- Charity entries exist at some events. They're cheaper upfront but come with a fundraising minimum. At Washington, D.C., for example, a charity Singles ticket was US$148 with a US$400 fundraising target.
Some third-party guides describe early-bird, standard and late price tiers. We couldn't confirm a fixed tier structure on official pages for 26/27, so the safest assumption is simple: the earlier you book, the more choice of day and wave you get, and you won't pay more by being early.
Can I get a refund, transfer my ticket or change the name?
Only if you bought the Flex add-on with your ticket. Without it, a HYROX ticket can't be refunded, renamed or changed after purchase. There are two versions, and both must be chosen at checkout. You can't add them later.
Flex add-on (Singles, Doubles and Relay):
- 100% refund until 7:59 AM (event time zone), 31 days before your race day.
- 50% refund until 7:59 AM, 7 days before your race day.
- One name change, until 7:59 AM the day before your race day.
- Refunds exclude the Flex fee and the service fee.
- Sold only until about six weeks before the race, according to the official FAQ.
Lite Flex add-on (also available on charity tickets):
- One name change, until 7:59 AM the day before your race day.
- No refund.
What no add-on covers:
- Transfers to another event. Not possible, with or without Flex.
- Moving to another day of the same event. Not possible.
- Spectator tickets. Flex isn't offered on them, so they're non-refundable.
Refunds are requested through your HYROX account and take about 7 to 10 days to reach your card. If you bought a Sportograf photo package with your ticket, it's refunded with the ticket; bought on its own, it isn't refundable.
We couldn't find the Flex price on an official page. Third-party guides put it at roughly €20 to €50 or about US$25 for Singles, more for a Doubles or Relay team. Check the price in the checkout before you decide.
Is Flex worth it? If there's any real chance of injury, a work trip or a pregnancy before race day, yes. A name change alone means you can hand your place to a friend rather than lose the full ticket. If you're booking a race five or six months out, it's cheap insurance.
Can I switch division after booking (e.g. Pro to Open)?
No. For 26/27, HYROX doesn't allow division changes after purchase, with or without Flex. That includes Pro to Open, Open to Pro, and Singles to Doubles.
If you're unsure which division suits you, book the one you're confident you can finish. An incomplete station is a disqualification under the 26/27 rules, so Pro weights you can't move on race day are a bigger risk than a slower Open time. Our divisions guide explains how to choose.
If you've booked the wrong division and you bought Flex, your only route is to request a refund inside the refund window and buy a new ticket in the right division, if one is still available. Doubles and Relay teams are also locked in: the rulebook says partners can't be changed once established without a valid medical note, so a Lite Flex name change is the realistic fix if a partner drops out.
When and where are HYROX races, and how fast do they sell out?
HYROX runs races year-round across Europe, North America, Asia, Australia, South America and the Middle East, mostly in big expo halls over a three- to five-day weekend. You can browse upcoming events on our HYROX race calendar, and buy tickets only from the official site at [https://hyrox.com/). Resale has ended, so avoid anyone offering secondhand tickets.
Tickets usually go on sale three to six months before race weekend, announced city by city. Sales are first-come, first-served. Some events open with a short presale for affiliated gyms before public registration.
How fast they sell out depends on the city:
- Big flagship events can go in minutes. Hong Kong's January 2027 race (the city also hosts the 2027 World Championships) was reported to sell out its first allocations very quickly after a gym presale, and it now runs over four days. If a race matters to you, be online the minute sales open.
- London ExCeL is historically one of the fastest UK sell-outs.
- Doubles and Relay often fill before Singles.
- Many regional races stay on sale for weeks, and some were still listed as on sale two weeks before race day when we checked.
"Sold out" isn't always final. Tracker data shows sold-out categories reopening dozens of times a month at busy events, as refunds and name changes free up places. If your race is sold out, keep checking the official event page.
Online athlete registration closes on the Wednesday at 6 PM before the event, or earlier if it sells out. On-site registration is sometimes possible but never guaranteed.
Tips for getting a ticket:
- Create your HYROX account before sale day and save your card details.
- Set a reminder for the exact release time in the event's time zone, not just the date.
- Know your division, day preference and partner names before you start.
- Have a backup city in mind if your first choice sells out.
How much do spectator tickets cost?
Spectators need their own ticket. Recent examples were £10 for London, €10 for Hamburg, US$20 per day for Washington, D.C. and HK$200 for Hong Kong.
- Children: Kids aged 12 and under get in free at many events, though some require a free under-12 ticket for each day. Free standard admission also often covers people aged 65 and over and people with disabilities. Check your event page.
- Athletes: Your athlete wristband gets you in on your race day only. To watch on another day, you need a spectator ticket.
- No refunds: Spectator tickets can't take Flex.
- Buy early: Spectator tickets can sell out too. Bangkok's 2026 race sold out spectator entry for all four days, and only people with advance tickets were guaranteed entry. You can usually buy on the day by card if any are left.
What does racing HYROX really cost?
The ticket is often the smallest part of the bill once you travel. Here's a realistic budget for one person racing Singles away from home, using the London price as an example.
| Item | Typical range |
|---|---|
| Singles ticket + service fee | ~£130–140 |
| Flex add-on (optional) | ~£20–40 |
| Spectator ticket per supporter | ~£10 |
| Travel | £0 (local) to several hundred for flights |
| Hotel, 1–2 nights | ~£100–300 |
| Food and race nutrition | ~£50–100 |
| Race photos (optional) | ~£30–40 |
Racing locally, you can do it for little more than the ticket. Flying abroad, expect a total of several hundred to over a thousand in your currency once flights and hotels are in. Race-weekend hotel prices near expo venues climb quickly, so book a refundable room when you buy your ticket.
Kit is mostly a one-off. You don't need special gear, but most racers end up with:
- A pair of trainers you can run and push a sled in (often €100–180 new).
- Race clothing you've trained in.
- Optional extras like thin gloves, knee sleeves and a belt. See our race-day packing list for what's allowed.
Training costs run in the background: a gym with a SkiErg, rower and sled, plus any plan or coaching. Budget these as part of your normal fitness spending, not the race.
Ways to save:
- Race Doubles or Relay to cut the entry fee.
- Pick a city you can reach by train or car.
- Share a room with your Doubles partner or crew.
- Skip Flex only if your plans are truly fixed.
Can sponsorship cover the cost?
Sometimes, yes. Amateur athletes do get local businesses, gyms and brands to cover entry fees, travel or kit in exchange for visibility and content. It works best when you have a clear story and an engaged audience, even a small one. Our guide on how to get sponsored for HYROX covers what sponsors look for and how to price a deal, and Marc Lou's HYROX sponsorship story shows one athlete who auctioned space on his race kit. Most athletes cover a race or two rather than earning an income, so plan your budget as if you're paying yourself.
